Humble Square Enix Bundle Now Live

It’s that time again, to splash out a little on games you’ll add to your Steam library and then forget about for two years. Yep, it’s another Humble Bundle, and this time the focus is on games that Square Enix has published. That is to say, don’t expect to see any Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest titles in here, but definitely do expect some of its best Western franchises.

The promotion is divided up into three tiers. Firstly, the “Pay what you want tier”, which is as it sounds. Pay any amount of money (above a dollar) for a few games, including two Hitman games, the critically-acclaimed weirdo RPG Anachronox, Thief Gold, Mini Ninjas and in what surely must be a troll move, the infamous Daikatana. Go up a tier to the “Beat the average” price, where you get extra games added in if you beat the average price paid for the bundle thus far (currently under $7, but this number is sure to rise over the course of the promotion, so get in quick!). Doing so will net you Deus Ex: Invisible War (which, while not as highly-regarded as the other games in the series, is still a solid game), iOS/Android port Deus Ex: The Fall, Hitman Absolution, Nosgoth Veteran’s Pack, Battlestations: Midway and the promise of “more games coming soon”.

The very last tier is a set price of $15, and in addition to all the previously-mentioned games, you’ll get a copy of the stupidly fun grappling-hook anarchy simulator Just Cause 2, Kane and Lynch 2, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and the critical darling Deus Ex itself. Most of those games are worth the $15 asking price by themselves, but getting them all in one go with at least ten others is an absolute steal.
As with every Humble Bundle, you can choose exactly where your money goes, so if you want all your money to go to the charities (GamesAid and Make-A-Wish Foundation, in this case) then that’s absolutely an option. If you think AAA gaming is a blight upon the Earth and have a shrine to Phil Fish set up in the corner of the room, you have the option of giving Square Enix exactly 0% of your money. It’s a win for everybody!
