If you think you don’t know Edgar Wright’s films; you do. Between the Cornetto trilogy and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, he’s become a reliable name for a good time in the theater over the least decade or so. He almost joined Joss Whedon in nerd-God status by getting to direct a Marvel Avengers feature with Ant-Man, but was ousted from the project for creative differences. But there ain’t no rest for the wicked as it’s just been revealed we’ll see him sooner rather than later with his new directorial project – Baby Driver.
Revealed by Deadline, the Working Title Films production was written by Wright who will be joined by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Nira Park on production duties. The project has been described as ‘a collision of crime, action, music and sound’ and will most likely see release through Universal (as per Working Title’s deal with them), though that’s not yet been confirmed. We’ll keep you informed with more information as it happens!
