Alejandro González Inárritu (try saying THAT three times fast) has his hands full at the moment with The Birdman set to open later this year with Michael Keaton. That hasn’t stopped him taking on more interesting projects as he’s also set to direct an adaptation of the Michael Punke novel The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio in the leading role, and now newly confirmed thanks to Variety, Tom Hardy.
The Punke novel is a tale of revenge set in the early 1800’s as a frontiersman decides to get back at his cohorts who left him to die after a bear attack. Leonardo is confirmed for the leading role, while Hardy is still undetermined. The film is set to start filming this fall for a 2015 release.
