The popular charity marathon Games Done Quick came to a close yesterday, after a full week of speed runs and laughter, they ended up raising more then $700,000 for Doctors without Borders. If you are unfamiliar with Game Done Quick, its a yearly fundraising effort by a group of speedrunners who play through games as fast as possible whilst asking for donations from the public.

The news came from the official Games Done Quick twitter stating ” And that’s it for another SGDQ! Donation total as of this writing: $713,338.96. Unbelievable beyond words”. Even thought the event is over you can still donate to the cause or catch the last few bonus streams still ongoing. I really enjoy these events, as not only is it always a great time, its a fantastic way to raise money for charity and really helps the speed running community get together.
