Y’know what’s kind of ridiculous? Frozen is STILL in theaters, and STILL making a lot of money. It recently cracked over a billion, and it’s barely hit the 6 month mark. It should come as no surprise then that Disney are keeping things moving forward with their franchises as it looks like 2012’s ode to gamers Wreck-It Ralph is getting a sequel.
Making a cool $471 million worldwide, a modest profit on its $150 million budget, Wreck-It Ralph was a veritable smash hit, and according to composer Henry Jackman, a second one is ‘on the cards’.
Speaking to Collider, Jackman went on to say, “I don’t know any more other than a story is indeed being written. I’d be very surprised not to. I’m not blowing my own trumpet. Forget about the music. Just the movie itself I thought was a fantastically imaginative and creative piece of work.”
The first film was a dazzling tribute to a by-gone era of gaming, and featured voices such as John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman and a myriad cast of cameos from gaming legends such as Q-Bert and Bowser. What games should this new one feature? Let us know in the comments!
