Sinister Six Film Draws Director
Just as Amazing Spider-Man 2 is about to open in theaters, we have some news of the Sinister Six spin-off that was announced last December. Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard is in negotiations to seal the deal to direct the film from his own script.
Coming from Variety, it’s reported that Goddard is looking to oversee the project. He is already part of the five man writing team – the other members being Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and Ed Solomon – who have come together along with two producers and Marc Webb, the director of the Amazing Spider-Man films, to form a ‘franchise brain trust’ that will expand the brand (licensed from Marvel) and oversee the story and tone over several films.
Goddard has previously worked on Cabin in the Woods with fellow Marvel alumni Joss Whedon, and is also currently overseeing the Daredevil series for Netflix. As yet, the Sinister Six does not have a release date.
