If the Turrican series thought me anything it’s that space and technology are terrifying! The first game in the series saw an AI ecosystem generator go absolutely berserk and eradicate life on the colony of Alterra with only a handful of survivors escaping to detail the horrors they left behind. A mutant warrior known as Turrican is sent to take back the planet and destroy the AI. Turrican 2 is a sequel but players don’t return to Alterra (thankfully) and instead go to war in a Turrican battle suit to take down ‘The Machine’, a tyrannical Emperor who turned his forces on a ship killing all but one member of the crew, Bren McGuire who swears revenge against the Empire!
