CONSTANTINE-v1-cvr

There actually couldn’t be a better time to be a geek; this is our Renaissance people so let’s make sure we do it right! Sorry I’ll contain myself. NBC have announced that they have cast their leading man for their new comic-based television series ‘Constantine’.

456789Welsh actor, Matt Ryan (Edward Kenway, AC IV Black Flag / Torchwood / Criminal Minds) will take on the role of John Constantine, a private detective with a speciality in dealing with supernatural cases. Little is known about the series just yet but it has been confirmed that it is being written by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel) and Daniel Cerone (“The Mentalist”) and that Constantine steps in when a friend’s daughter is targeted by demonic forces.

Constantine had his own feature length film back in 2005 with Keanu Reeves taking on the character, the film also featured Tilda Swinton, Rachel Weisz and Djimon Hounsou.

So you can now add Constantine to the list of TV shows that includes ‘Arrow’, ‘Gotham’ and ‘The Flash’… seriously no better time to be one of us!
