Last Season of ‘The Clone Wars’ to air on Netflix

There hasn’t been a whole lot of good Star Wars news of late. Lucasarts studios are dead and gone, 1313 going with them, the new films look sketchy at best and the one consistently good thing, ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, had been cancelled last year. Until now, well, sort of.

It has just been announced that Netflix will be streaming the 13 episode last season of the CGI show, dubbed ‘The Lost Missions’, along with the rest of the seasons starting March 7th on the US and Canada editions of the service.

Coming from Variety: ‘Netflix is grabbing on to the Force in a pact with Disney/ABCTV Group and Lucasfilm to carry the final season of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’. ‘Clone Wars’ will bow March 7th on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada. The batch of 13 episodes dubbed ‘The Lost Missions’ will debut on the Netcaster along with all of the episodes from the previous five seasons of the show that aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 – 2012.’

I, for one, am totally excited. This show is one of my favorite Star Wars things outside the original films, and with these finally airing and a new ‘Battlefront’ on the horizon, perhaps the future of the franchise ain’t so bad after all!
