Renegades, as the name suggests, will be bold, edgy and a little dark. Renegades will feature a combination of familiar Star Trek faces, plus a collection of hot, new rising actors.
Renegades creators are penning the pilot (with the hopes of developing a web series) as a departure from the Trek we know and love and paint a different picture of a space torn apart by deceit, treachery and shadowy figures. The series promises to be darker and not just in terms of how it looks (the teaser trailers above and below paint very dark shots) but in terms of the storyline and the characters, their actions and their personalities.
A lot of buzz surrounds Renegades and as a lifelong Trekkie I’m excited to see how this all comes out and the final result. Trek has been absent from our small screens since Enterprise wrapped up (let’s not talk about that ending) and even though we’ve had two blockbuster movies it would be nice to see how the Federation is doing.
Star Trek: Renegades will be action oriented, filled with suspense and espionage; all while exploring new worlds, encountering both familiar and new alien species, and boldly going where no Trek has gone before.
