It seems appropriate that in the same week that Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 breaks Kickstarter records that yet another indie title appears online in need of support. This time that game is Beyond Eyes, the story of a blind girl named Rae who goes out into the world in search of her pet cat, Nani who has disappeared. The games’ designer, Sherida Halatoe, began the Beyond Eyes as a graduation project but in order to see it to completion, she needs some financial assistance.
I am a total fanboy for interesting art games so needless to say I was sold on this concept almost immediately but watch the pitch trailer if you need convincing, keep watching past the initial trailer to hear Sherida herself break it all down for you. Her commitment and passion is inspiring and the pledge rewards are actually pretty slick, ranging from discounts on the game to limited edition hand painted figurines and more.
