Kickstarter: Wolf Girl
It’s been a while since a trailer for a movie has jumped out at me and I’ve been drifting aimlessly in the world of movies, new ones and old ones! Then on a late night Twitter trip, I stumbled across a Twitter account, ‘@WolfGirlMovie‘ and my curiosity and inability to sleep got to me! I clicked the link, I was expecting a horror movie, I hoped for a superhero movie…
…what I got was something entirely different and all together wonderful!
A group of fans are working to bring a live action, Princess Mononoke inspired film to life and they need your help, your input and your time! I dare you to watch the above trailer and not get goosebumps!
The team behind the movie all consider themselves huge Studio Ghibli fans, so this doesn’t feel like a team latching onto to an idea and running amok with it! Understandably some fans might be hesitant, Princess Mononoke is a classic not only to one of the world’s most beloved animation houses or the Anime genre but to the world of film but the team aren’t taking it lightly and are eager for fellow fans to have their say on the project!
The film is not endorsed by Studio Ghibli or Hayao Miyazaki but it’s also not being made for profit – this film is, according to the production, ‘…for the fans and our own enjoyment.’
A Kickstarter is currently in operation and it’s offering people the chance to not only back this fantastic project but earn some awesome stuff for doing so, including, props from the movie, artwork, soundtracks, puppets and even costume items from the movie itself!
The project is now live on Kickstarter and if you’d like to see it happen, then help spread the word and if possible make a donation with as much as you can afford!
