Harmon to return to ‘Community’

Great news for Community fans! Series creator Dan Harmon returns after a one-year hiatus. Harmon was fired after season 3 after an unknown disagreement, the events of his parting remain a mystery.

While it isn’t quite set in stone yet, Harmon is said to be returning for a two- year contract along with fellow writer and producer Chris McKenna, whom also left.

Harmon replaces David Guarascio and Moses Port as the showrunner for the comedy, which has had a turbulent run, to say the least. Community got cancelled by NBC after just two seasons, but was then brought back after fans wrote angry emails and signed petitions, as netizens are so good at doing. The story was that the internal conflicts led to Harmon’s firing, but both critics and viewers have noticed that the series has lost something of its trademark sense of humour after the switch.

For those who don’t know, Community (as summarised on IMDb) is about:

“A lawyer who is scuppered when it is discovered that he has falsely claimed to have a bachelor’s degree. He is suspended and enrolls himself into Community college. He forms a study group so that he can get closer to an attractive student. The study group includes a millionaire, a former drug addict, a former quarter-back, a single mother, and a film student.”

However, if you are still unaware of the television drug that is Community, it is your duty to watch it! (By any means necessary)
In closure, if Harmon follows through with his two year contract, six seasons and a movie may become a reality!

Until then I remain extremely excited about the future of the show!
