Six months ago South Korea enacted a law called “the Shutdown Law” which prohibits minors under the age of sixteen from playing video games between the hours of midnights and six a.m. The latest casualty of this law is the PSN store which is to be taken down on the 29th of June, other online functions will still be up just the store will inaccessible in South Korea, while XBOX Live features are shut down during the time period for and user account under the required age.

This law is being decried as unconstitutional and is now starting to be legally challenged, one suit is being filed by an unnamed parents and teenagers group challenging that the law violates equal rights and invades their parental rights to educate their own children.

A second lawsuit is being filed by collectively by game companies NCsoft(Guild Wars, Aion), Neowiz and Nexon (Maple Story) stating the law is unjust.
