Silent Hill: Revelations 3D is coming

Silent Hill is one of those games series we want to love, but it makes it really hard to. Silent Hill 1 and 2 are fantastic games and still two of my all time favourites. With 3 and after it was pretty much down hill, with the exception of the Wii game. So out of this misguided love I still follow the series hoping against hope and telling myself that the next one will be good. Remember the movie? well a sequel is coming, oddly enough a direct sequel to the first movie and in 3D.

The movie has been in production is some form since 2010 and has been fraught will all sorts of delays, some sounding like they could be a plot point in one of the games. Open Road Films has recently acquired the rights to distribute Silent Hill: Revelations 3D, hitting our screens in October 26 just in time for Halloween 2012.   Being a direct sequel many of the original cast is returning, Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger and Rahda Mitchell all reprise their roles with the new additions of Kit Harington (Jon Snow in Game of Thrones), Adelaide Clemens, the Matrix’s Carrie-Ann Moss and good old Malcolm McDowell along side series regular a crap load of fog.

The plot will feature Heather Mason (Aledaide Clemens) and her father running from the dark forces that have been chasing them since the first movie. On the eve of her 18th birthday Heather has horrifying nightmares, that along with the disappearance of her father leads her to discover who she really is! But what will this Revelation 3D mean for Heather and the good people of Silent Hill.

If there is a non 3D version i’ll probably end up seeing it cause I like punishing myself, it’s almost like the Silent Hill Franchise has become my own personal Silent Hill. The original movie is interesting in itself in that it is one of the rare occasions when Sean Bean’s character actually survives all the way to end.
