Final Fantasy XIII sequel anyone?

Only days ago the website www.finalfantasy13-2game.com was registered by ‘Corporation Service Company’, the same company that registered domains for other Square Enix games such as Nier and MindJack. The URL for the official Final Fantasy XIII site is www.finalfantasy13game.com and it’s interesting to note that much of the Final Fantasy XIII came straight from working on Final Fantasy X-2, the first direct Final Fantasy sequel.

Not to mention that the producers had stated before the release of the game that they’d like to make a sequel, assuming the game sold well. With the company having already announced that Final Fantasy XIII is now officially the fastest selling game of the franchise to date the game has met that qualification. And if that wasn’t enough this news comes just a week before the Tokyo-based game maker is to hold an event in Japan. Coincidence? We think not. While this may not be complete proof that there’s a sequel on the way it’s certainly shaping up to look like it!

Pac-Man Reality TV Show…?

Waka waka waka! That’s right, because we (apparently) demanded it Pac-Man is headed to reality TV!  Merv Griffin Entertainment has teamed with Namco Bandai Games America, which owns the Pac-Man brand, to develop the series. It seems unlikely to be coincidence that the project has come about just before Pac-Mans 30th anniversary.

The intention is for the show to be a ‘big, crazy Wipeout-type event with a lot of energy’. The producers intend to take everything Pac-Man is and bring it to life, so essentially we’re looking at a big, crazy game of tag then. The last time Pac-Man graced our television screens in the form of a show was the short lived early 1980’s animated series. Will this show prove to be any more successful? We’ll see soon enough it seems.

Personally? We are expecting it to be a lot like this:

Wii attack

Anyone who owns or has played a Nintendo Wii has come across the warnings to remind us to keep the controller strapped securely to our wrists to avoid injury, to ourself, our televisions, our friends etc. Sadly it doesn’t warn you about the damage throwing the console itself can cause, which had 31 year old Rebecca Varina Sloskowski arrested on the charge of second degree assault. Her victim and boyfriend suffered two chipped teeth and a swollen lip.

The victim reported that he and his girlfriend had an argument while she was intoxicated on the night of January 10th so he left their apartment between the hours of 7PM and 10PM to allow her to calm down. Evidently this plan failed as upon his return his furious partner began to hurl items at him, including the Nintendo Wii into his face resulting in two chipped teeth and a swollen lip, the act that resulted in her arrest. We’re willing to bet she’s only wishing there had been an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 within her grasp instead.

3000 Mega Man fans get woman a job

Sometimes it’s difficult to make decisions, even more so if you’re deciding on who you should hire for a job. It’s always so much simpler to leave it to someone else, or 3000 people as was the case when Capcom had their fans vote for their choice to voice Mega Man Legends 3 in-game heroine Aero. The winner was Akemi Kanda, a voice actress who is no stranger to Capcom titles having lent her voice to Persona 4, Clannad and Fatal Frame II. She has also starred in other Mega Man titles in the past, such as Mega Man X: Command Mission and Mega Man Powered up.

While it is unusual for voice actors and actresses to be chosen by fans rather than the game studios this is one exception, seeming as Akemi Kanda will be voicing Aero whose character design was also selected by the Japanese gaming community.
