ArcadeCon has a zero tolerance policy for harassment/bullying. We take all accusations of harassment seriously and encourage anyone who feels they’ve been attacked to come forward and notify a member of our staff.
While our policy includes all aspects of harassment/bullying we wish to make it clear that ArcadeCon abides by the ‘Cosplay is Not Consent’ policy.
Jeering, groping and harassing a cosplayer because of how she/he is dressed will not be tolerated.
Unfortunately this is a very serious concern within the cosplay/convention community at the moment and we wish to help make spaces like ArcadeCon better and safer for all attending – please see the short guidelines for interacting and meeting cosplayers.
If you wish to take a picture of a cosplayer, please ask first. 90% of the time the cosplayer is more than willing to strike a pose for you but it’s polite to ask first.
Making crude comments about a cosplayers appearance is considered harassment regardless of the context or whether you ‘meant it’ or not. ArcadeCon considers this to be bullying and the accused will face expulsion from the convention.
Do not touch or grab at a cosplayer – costumes can be delicate and torn and more importantly you are invading the personal and private space of another person. Before putting your arm around the person ask permission.
Inall cases please remember that underneath the costume, behind the mask, there is another person and you must be considerate and respectful of them at all times.
