I was amazed to learn recently that Foo Fighters album The Colour and the Shape turned twenty years old at the end of May this year.
This little fact got me thinking at just how amazing it is that Dave Grohl and co continue to go from strength to strength and seem to have found the secret to longevity where the music industry is concerned.
But seemingly to snap me out of my nostalgia trip, two weeks ago Foo Fighters released a new track – ‘Run’.
Having only recently finished a second viewing of the Foo Fighters‘ documentary series, Sonic Highways, I was itching for something new.
What can I say about ‘Run’ other than the fact that it’s a classic Foo Fighters hard rock tune. Starting off slow, the song builds to blistering pace reminiscent of other Foo Fighters tracks such as ‘All My Life’, ‘The Pretender’ and ‘These Days’.
I opted not to share the song’s official video, as it is NSFW, but I urge you to check it out in your own time. It’s weird but it’s good weird.
