So you may be wondering, what the heck Lauren, but I’ve been on a Buffy The Vampire Slayer kick the last few days and this is from one of my most favourite episodes, ‘Becoming Part 2’. A heartbreaking melody from Sarah McLachlan, ‘Full of Grace’.
Now for any Buffy fans, we know this episode as a particularly heartbreaking one in which Buffy has to leave Sunnydale after killing the person she loves; Angel. There’s two moments in particular that break my heart every time during this song and episode of Buffy. The first is when Joyce, Buffy’s mother, finds a letter from Buffy, explaining that she can’t stay and has to leave. Seeing Joyce break down in tears over the contents of the letter is absolutely heart shattering.
The second moment is when Buffy is sat on the bus leaving Sunnydale, looking completely broken and not like the strong Slayer we’ve all come to know.
I know this has become more about the episode than the song, but this song was the perfect choice for the episode itself. Watch, listen and maybe watch some Buffy again!
