What some of you probably don’t know, I am a fan of country music. While you’re more likely to find me listening to either Foo Fighters, some punk or 70’s classic rock, I do enjoy country music.
Growing up, my mother listened to a lot of Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash so I did have exposure to it from a young age.
It didn’t dawn on me however until I watched the Nashville episode of the Foo Fighters documentary series Sonic Highways, just how connected to country music I am.
Good country songs, are like stories. Stories of happiness, sadness, love and heartache. And this storyteller style of music, has always appealed to me.
So for our track of the day, I decided to break from the norm and give you a little bit of country. My choice for track of the day is ‘Even If It Breaks Your Heart‘ by Eli Young Band.
This song is about following your dreams, even if doing so proves difficult. Even if it brings you hardship. Even if it breaks your heart.
