‘Hawaii’ – Tom Felton – TOTD

It would have been too easy to pick something from the La La Land soundtrack, so here’s something a little different from Gosling‘s doppleganger. It’s March and by now we’re hoping the weather is heading into the spring it’s meant to be. But lately, it’s been feeling even more wintry. The sun appears sometimes, but only to fool the over-eager freckly eejit who decides to test the waters by leaving the house with no coat!

This is a song that reminds me of that ‘damn Irish weather’ feeling as Felton talks about wishing he was on holiday and not stuck in snow-aggravated traffic. I think we can all relate, if only to the cold.

Not many are even aware that Tom Felton, better known as Draco Malfoy, released some music back in the day. He posted his first poor quality YouTube video in 2008 under the title ‘Feltbeats‘. Fifteen other songs were released, but only through iTunes. It’s unclear whether this is even still available to download, but a few songs appear on Spotify.

There was a drought for a while, but he was back last year with a new channel and some new tunes. He is not the most talented of songwriters or even singers, but his British drawl is soothing, and his style is laid-back and everyday.

Felton is continuing his stint on The Flash and also appeared recently in A United Kingdom. He will soon star in the as yet unreleased A Message from the King and Stratton.
