First the internet wanted a Squirrel Girl movie! Then the internet demanded Anna Kendrick tackle the character after she said she’d like to give it a shot! Then Stranger Things happened and everyone wanted Shannon Purser to be the fluffy rodent hero. Now it’s all going in a different direction!
According to TV Line, we are going to see Squirrel Girl but she’s not going to be on the big screen. While they report that neither ABC or Marvel have confirmed the story; they do claim a new series is in the works. This show will centre around the New Warriors, a group of teenage superheroes and would feature Doreen Green aka Squirrel Girl.
The series is being pitched at streaming and cable services according to TV Line as thirty minute episodes.
