The long dormant Jonny Quest has finally found a director as Robert Rodriguez has signed on to Warner Bros. to bring the project to life. Joining him will be Terry Rossio, whose credits include Pirates of the Caribbean and The Mask of Zorro.
Rodriguez and Rossio will be rewriting a script that was originally written by Dan Mazeau, while Rodriguez will tackle directing duties all on his lonesome.
Jonny Quest is a 1964 adventure action cartoon from Hanna-Barbera that focuses on Quest, a boy who accompanies his father on his globe-trotting adventure. The cartoon is relatively popular but is more known for its more modern version, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, which features stronger animation and a darker tone.
