As if we needed anymore reason to see the latest Mad Max outside of the completely awesome trailers – Collider have revealed that the first proper trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been attached to every copy of Mad Max: Fury Road.
This makes a lot of sense for Warner Bros. for one reason than one. First, it avoids the obvious fanfare that Avengers will be driving as Mad Max opens May 15th, two weeks clear of Age of Ultron so social media and critical discussion will have (somewhat) moved on by then. Second, Mad Max is WB’s first major blockbuster of the year, and it being a reboot, the most dreaded of films these days, it helps maximize the audience for the trailer and the film in equal measure.
One thing’s for sure, given the lukewarm response to both Man of Steel and DC’s cinematic universe, this trailer has a lot to prove. With the 2016 release date on the film itself, here’s hoping it gets the marketing campaign off on a good foot.
