The Final Fantasy series of games are often narratively disengaged from each other, with only some thematic, aesthetic and mechanic links. Among these links is Cid, a mechanic-type character whose presence is usually tied to the transport of the characters in the game. Cid has always been male, until now.
During the Jump Fest 2015 in Japan, Square Enix revealed another trailer for Final Fantasy XV, and it showed off a slightly different Cid to what we’ve know up until this point.
Named Cidney, the first female Cid isn’t playable, but serves as the mechanic for the main characters. Details remain scant on the game’s due date, but from the looks of things, it will be worth the wait. Which it will need to be, given the lackluster reception for the XIII trilogy.
