The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Warner Bros. have cast their first voice actor for their upcoming adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in the role of the man-eating tiger, Shere Khan, the story’s villain – it’s not his first Khan and it’s not his first voice acting work either and Cumberbatch will be working under Andy Serkis who will be making his debut as a director with the film.
The Warner Bros. film will be going head to head with Disney’s version which has cast Idris Elba in the role of the tiger.
