action-comics-no1Did you have $3,207,852.00 to spare? Because you could have spent it on Action Comics #1, the comic that debuted Superman to the world! The comic sold by Darren Adams went to an unnamed bidder (bet you it was a super villain!) for €2,432,840.04 after the bidding closed.
The comic was first published in 1938 and featured Superman the creation of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, back in 2011 another  edition of the comic was sold for $2.16 million (€1.63 million).
It first opened online at eBay with an opening bid of $1,000,000, speaking about the sale, Darren said that “proud to have owned the most valuable comic book in the world. Working with eBay on this auction allowed me to share this rare treasure with their global community and ensure the next owner is just as passionate about its place in history.” .
On a positive note a portion of the funds raised in the auction is going to be donated to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, a charity that dedicates itself to curing spinal cord injury.
